Bohdan Rytsar born in
June 15, 1945 in L’viv. In 1952–1953 studied in L’viv musical school named after S.Krushelnycka. In 1963–1968 studied at L’viv Polytechnic Institute. After graduation, from 1974 worked as an
assistant at the Department of Electrical and Radio Engineering of L’viv
State University, later – as a junior researcher at the Physics and Mechanics
Research Institute of the USSR Academy of Sciences. In 1981 defended dissertation
“Research and Development of Impulse Proton-Resonance Humidity Analyzer of
Building Materials and Other Dispersive
Materials”. From 1982 – an Assistant Professor at the
Department of Radioelectronic Devices and Systems of L'viv Polytechnic National University. Teaches the course “Digital
Devices and Microprocessors”. The author of the educational manual “Digital
Technology”, which was awarded the second prize by the Ministry of Education
of Ukraine (1992). Since 2005 – Professor at the
Department of Radio and Electronic Devices and Systems, Institute of
Telecommunication, Radioelectronics and Electronics, L'viv Polytechnic National University. One of
the organizers of Technical Committee for Scientific and Technical Terminology
Standardization (TC 19, TC STTS) of Derzhstandart based at Lviv Polytechnic National University. Since 1992 –
Secretary-in-Charge, since 1996 – Chairman
of TC STTS, being appointed to the position by the joint order of Derzhstandart and Ministry of Education of Ukraine. A member of Scientific and
Technical Terminology Commission of Derzhstandart of Ukraine. One of the
initiators of international scientific conferences “Problems of Ukrainian
Terminology” and creation of Ukrainian Terminological Society.
Scientific interests: applied radiospectroscopy,
digital devices and systems optimal synthesis, Ukrainian scientific and
technical terminology. Author of 170
scientific articles
(more than
60 works – on terminology), 33 inventions (one
license of Ukraine), an educational manual “Digital Technology” was awarded
the second prize in 1991 by Ministry of Education of Ukraine, a co-author of
4 dictionaries, among them the first “Russian-Ukrainian and Ukrainian-Russian Radioelectronics Dictionary”, an editor-in-chief of terminological
dictionaries of SlovoSvit series, a member of the editorial board of the
Proceedings “The Problems of Ukrainian Terminology”, Chairman of TC STTS
Permanent Scientific Seminar.
Other: since 1982 – a singer in “Orfej” Folk
Chorus of Lviv Polytechnic; 1-st grade in chess playing.
